It is a humbling experience, having someone show you exactly what to do, think you are doing it right, but then it just ends up being wrong. Now, it is only day 2 and we are already starting on how to make a knife, which I have been told is advanced stuff. Just practicing on the techniques to the blade is all, but still a lot learned.
One big lesson I learned is that you can put it back in the heat too many times, which makes sense.
Tried to only hammer along the edge, hammer aim needs work.
Just Right
Being told to move slower, yet fast enough to not lose too much heat is a bit difficult to wrap my head around. I go too slow, it does exactly that. I go too fast, I lose control of the piece. It makes sense in my head, but it is very difficult to apply. Again, it is only day 2, I am sure I will get there!
The end product, for what it is.
